Window replacement costs in Canada come down to four things: the style of window, the size of the opening, the glass package, and whether the existing frame stays in place. Weather Pro manufactures the windows we install, so what you receive is factory-direct pricing rather than dealer pricing. This page lists our installed prices for every style and size we build, explains what an installed price includes, and covers the offers and financing available right now.
How much does window replacement cost in Canada
Most homeowners replacing standard operating vinyl windows pay between $520 and $1,560 per window installed with double-pane glass, or between $620 and $1,800 per window installed with triple-pane glass. Picture and fixed units start lower, at $480, and large custom fixed units reach $2,520. Every figure on this page is an installed price: it covers the window, the labour, the sealing and the finishing, not the unit on its own.
The table below shows the full installed range for each style we manufacture, from the smallest opening in double-pane to the largest in triple-pane.
| Window style | Double pane, installed | Triple pane, installed |
|---|---|---|

Window prices by style
The size bands below match those used in our calculator, so the figures on this page and those the calculator returns are the same numbers. Small is up to 24 by 36 inches. Medium is up to 36 by 60 inches. Large is anything over 36 by 60 inches.
Casement windows crank open on a side hinge and compress against the frame when closed, which is why they hold up well on exposed elevations. They give the widest unobstructed opening of any operating style and combine easily with fixed units.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $570 to $840 | $680 to $1,010 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $650 to $960 | $780 to $1,150 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $750 to $1,110 | $900 to $1,330 |

Awning windows hinge at the top, so they can stay open in light rain. That makes them common above kitchen counters, in bathrooms and in basement openings where ventilation matters more than the view.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $590 to $880 | $710 to $1,060 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $690 to $1,010 | $820 to $1,210 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $790 to $1,160 | $940 to $1,390 |

Single hung windows slide vertically with one operating sash. They are the most economical style we build in every size band, which is why they are common on secondary elevations and upper floors.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $520 to $780 | $620 to $940 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $610 to $910 | $730 to $1,100 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $700 to $1,090 | $850 to $1,310 |

Double-hung windows operate on both sashes and tilt inward for cleaning from inside the home. That matters on upper floors, and it is the main reason they cost more than a single-hung window of the same size.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $570 to $850 | $680 to $1,020 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $670 to $1,000 | $820 to $1,200 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $780 to $1,160 | $930 to $1,390 |

Single-slider windows open horizontally with a single moving sash. Along with single-hung windows, sliders are the most economical operating style and suit bedrooms and secondary openings.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $540 to $820 | $650 to $890 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $640 to $960 | $760 to $1,150 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $740 to $1,140 | $890 to $1,370 |

Double-slider windows open both sashes for wider ventilation. The step-up from a single slider is modest in small and medium sizes and increases in large openings, where the second operating sash requires more reinforcement.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $590 to $880 | $700 to $1,060 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $700 to $1,050 | $850 to $1,250 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $840 to $1,300 | $1,260 to $1,590 |

Picture windows and fixed casements do not open. They start lower than any operating style because there is no hardware, but they cover the widest range of any style on this page because a fixed unit can be built far larger than an operating one. A large custom fixed unit in triple pane is the most expensive single window we make.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $480 to $1,150 | $580 to $1,390 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $560 to $1,680 | $680 to $2,020 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $640 to $2,100 | $760 to $2,520 |
Sizes and prices shown are examples for budgeting. Your exact price is based on a free in-home measurement.
Tilt-and-turn windows tilt inward for controlled ventilation and swing fully open for cleaning, with locking points on all four sides. The hardware is heavier and more complex than a standard casement, which is why this is the most expensive operating style we build.
| Size | Double pane | Triple pane |
|---|---|---|
| Smallup to 24 by 36 inches | $800 to $1,190 | $930 to $1,400 |
| Mediumup to 36 by 60 inches | $920 to $1,360 | $1,100 to $1,640 |
| Largeover 36 by 60 inches | $1,000 to $1,560 | $1,190 to $1,800 |

Styles quoted individually
Bay, bow, end vent slider, and specialty-shape windows are priced per configuration rather than per opening because each is drawn for a specific wall. A bay or a bow carries load and needs a roof, a sill and an insulation detail, so it sits well above a flat opening of the same width. Request a quote, and we will price the configuration on site.
Cost to replace all the windows in a house
Replacing every window in a home costs less per opening than a phased project. The crew mobilizes once, delivery is a single trip, and the openings are finished in one pass. Most whole home projects on standard house windows are completed in a single day.
The ranges below are calculated from the per-window prices above, using medium-sized double-pane units across the common operating styles. A home with several large or fixed units will sit higher, and a home in mostly single-hung and slider will sit lower.
| Home | Number of openings | Project range |
|---|---|---|
| Small two-bedroom home | 15 to 20 | $9,200 to $21,000 |
| Three-bedroom home | 20 to 25 | $12,200 to $26,300 |
| Two-storey home | 30 to 40 | $18,300 to $42,000 |
| Large or custom home | 40 plus | $24,400 and up |

What is included in an installed window price
An installed price is not the price of the window. Window installation cost is the larger variable on most projects, because it depends on the opening rather than on the catalogue. Every Weather Pro quote includes the following.
- Manufacture of each unit to the measured opening, not to a stock size.
- Removal of the existing window.
- Insulation and sealing of the opening.
- Interior and exterior finishing.
- Cleanup on completion and removal of the old units.
- Warranty registration, with the transferable lifetime warranty active from the day of installation.
Quoted separately when they apply: repair of rot or damage found behind the existing frame, structural changes to the opening, new interior trim on a full frame replacement, and access equipment on upper floors.

Retrofit windows versus full frame replacement
This single decision moves the price more than any other choice on the quote, and most homeowners have never had it explained to them.
A retrofit installation keeps the existing frame in place. The old sashes and glass are removed, the new unit is installed in the sound frame, and the interior trim is left untouched. It costs less, takes less time and is the right choice when the existing frame is square, dry and structurally sound.
A full frame replacement removes everything back to the rough opening. It costs more because there is more labour, more insulation and new trim, but it is the only correct choice when the frame has rot, when the opening has shifted, or when you want to change the size of the window. During a full-frame replacement, the installer can also inspect and insulate the cavity around the opening, which a retrofit cannot reach.
Our estimator tells you which one each of your openings needs before quoting, and will quote both where either would work so you can see the difference.
What affects the price of replacement windows
Glass package
Double pane windows with a low-e coating and argon fill are the standard package. Triple-pane windows add a third pane and a second sealed cavity, which reduce heat loss and cut outside noise. Across our range, triple-pane adds about 20 percent to the price of the same window, though it varies by style and size, from as little as 9 percent to as much as 50 percent for the largest sliders. On a medium casement, the step is $650 to $960 for double pane, versus $780 to $1,150 for triple pane. Many homeowners specify triple-pane for north- and west-facing elevations and double-pane elsewhere, which captures most of the benefit at a lower cost.
Size of the opening
Moving from a small opening to a large one adds roughly 25 to 45 percent depending on the style. Price rises faster than the glass area because larger units require heavier reinforcement and more people to handle on-site.
Window style
Hardware drives the difference between styles. A single-hung window in a medium opening starts at $610. The same opening in a tilt-and-turn starts at $920 because the hardware operates on two axes and locks on four sides.
Frame colour and finish
White is the standard finish. Exterior colours and laminate finishes carry an upcharge because the profile is finished rather than extruded in colour.
Number of openings in the project
Cost per opening falls as the project grows. A single window carries the full mobilization cost on its own.
Access and the condition of the opening
Upper-floor openings, tight side yards, and frames that turn out to be damaged behind the trim all add labour. This is why a written quote after a measurement is worth more than a figure over the phone.
Window replacement cost across Canada
Our prices are the same across the provinces we serve. What changes by region is the specification most homeowners choose, and that is what moves the final number.
- Alberta. Triple pane is the common choice for north and west elevations because of winter design temperatures, which puts a medium casement nearer $780 to $1,150 than $650 to $960.
- Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Similar to Alberta, with triple-pane windows common throughout the house rather than on selected elevations.
- Ontario. Double-pane units are more common outside the coldest design-temperature months, and larger-picture units appear more often in newer housing stock.
- British Columbia. Moisture resistance and coastal exposure drive specification more than winter temperature.
- Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Wind and moisture resistance are usually the priority, alongside ENERGY STAR certification.
